One thing that springs to mind which I don't think I've asked is this. In the event that we decide to go the bankruptcy route, is there any way of knowing for sure - before we start - that we'll keep the house?
 
Balancing off it's value against the mortgage and our expected legacy (when and how much) we wanna keep it!
